The primary goal of the McDowell Economic Development Association (MEDA) is job creation and to increase the tax base in McDowell County, whether it is through new industry recruitment or existing industry assistance. In an effort to realize this goal, MEDA maintains a good working relationship with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Industrial Realtors, utility companies, and other interested parties. 

In an effort to promote McDowell County, MEDA compiles and provides current demographic data, site and building specifications, employee training program information and other information that may be requested by a prospective client.

The McDowell Economic Development Association will assist with any business related inquiry in a timely and thorough manner.
